The SX Emergency Exit Break Glass has been designed specifically for use in hazardous environments. It is a customised GRP Glass Call Point and is a member of our unique SX product family.

It works with both our door controller and access products, as well as with third party ACU systems, providing a highly effective solution for access control in Ex classified hazardous areas.

The SX Ex Emergency Exit Break Glass is a Dual Pole Changeover (DPCO) type unit manufactured from UV stable glass reinforced polyester and finished in green in accordance with BS 7273-4: 2015 Code of Practice for the Operation of Fire Protection Measures – Part 4. The unit meets the requirements of the ATEX directive 94/9/EC and IECEx scheme.

The Break Glass Call Point is available in a range of other RAL colours and with alternate duty labels. Approved for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous areas, it is suitable for use in access control, fire and gas alarm systems.

Breaking the glass triggers the DPCO mechanism, enabling the power to locking system to be interrupted and, at the same time, an alarm signal to be triggered at the ACU.

The SX EX Emergency Exit Break Glass unit is supplied as standard with a protective stainless steel cover flap designed to prevent accidental activation of the unit. It also has a test key facility provided as standard.
